On Saturday, July 2nd 2011, I got to go watch one of my nephews, Jackson, be baptized. It was so fun to have all the family gathered around to support this sweet little boy as he took this big step in his life. I was so happy to be able to be a part of it. Jackson is honestly one of the sweetest, most genuine 8 year olds I have ever met. His parents have done an amazing job of raising him up to this point. He is such a good boy, and will have a lot of greatness ahead of him. After Jackson got baptized, he and his dad were still standing in the font, and he just looked up at all of the family lovingly watching. He had the most tender smile on his face; I think I will always remember the way he looked up at us. Then, on our way from the font to the Primary room, where we would have his little program and confirmation, I had a cool little experience. It hit me that my nephew, this little boy who I love so much, would be receiving the companionship of the Holy Ghost today. An overwhelming feeling of excitement came over me, as I thought of Jackson having this gift. I thought of all the comfort, guidance, and witnesses of the truthfulness of this gospel that have come to me through the gift of the Holy Ghost. It is truly a gift. I never want to be without it. I cannot be without it. I don't want others to be without it, and I recognize how important it is for us as members to help our other brothers and sisters receive this gift. Even though I can't remember many details, this whole experience has made me so grateful for my baptism day. I hope to see many more, hopefully even my own kids one day, experience this pure joy as well. Good choice Jackson!
